Have you been wanting to try an apple cider vinegar rinse?

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has a reputation as the ultimate does-it-all, including health benefits and for rinsing hair. But should you be using the one from your pantry? In theory, yes. But in practice? There are reasons to be cautious. Here's some information on ACV.

ACV's low pH can improve hair health

* clarifies as it conditions the hair and scalp

* removes residue

* brings back body and shine

* revitalizes dull hair naturally, decreases tangles

* helps decrease dandruff

* stimulates circulation on the scalp

* antimicrobial properties

* can help with hair color fading

HOWEVER, you can actually get burned. The acetic acid that ACV contains is known to be caustic, which means it may irritate or burn the skin. Though it removes build up and exfoliates, it can cause inflammation rather than reverse it.

Because of this, pure ACV can start degrading your hair and should always be diluted with water or mix with oil as a carrier before using it topically.

The DIY approach could actually do more harm than good without a complimentary moisturizing regimen to replace the oils that ACV can strip away.

I have been carrying and recommending Chagrin Valley ACV for a few years now. Their products are infused with certified organic herbs and organic essential oils that are great for retaining moisture in the hair and scalp.

It is a pure concentrate, so you just add your own water to create the perfect rinse for your hair type (and you are not paying for a product that is mostly water).

Mix 1/2 to 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with 8 ounces of water in a plastic squeeze bottle, spray bottle or another container. More vinegar for oily hair, less for dry hair.

* made with organic, raw apple cider vinegar

* removes product build-up and residue without stripping natural oils

* adds softness, body, bounce, and shine great for dull, lifeless hair

* flattens the cuticle, resulting in less frizz and tangles

* soothes and refreshes the scalp antiseptic and germicidal properties

* can help with dandruff and flaking

* no plastic packaging

Want to give it a try? I offer a 1oz amber glass bottle for $4
